An AirCar prototype just completed a successful inter-city flight

Flying cars are one step closer to reality after a recent successful test flight of an AirCar prototype.

The Slovakian company that conducted the test flight said it was the first inner-city flight to take place so far, meaning the AirCar was inching closer toward a public debut. The new prototype is said to be both air and street legal.

After the successful 35-minute flight, the vehicle’s inventor and test pilot, Stefan Klein, tucked in the wings of the vehicle and drove the car home from the airport’s tarmac where it had just safely landed.

The hybrid aircraft is a project that has been more than 30 years in the making. More than 40 hours of test flights and 142 successful landings have already been logged so far in the vehicle.
