Consumer Electronics Stocks Got A Post-Christmas Bump

Several consumer electronics stocks got a lift on Thursday after investors considered which companies had hot-selling gadgets this Christmas.

Apple (AAPL) and iRobot (IRBT) rose on the first trading day after the gift-giving holiday.

Apple (AAPL) stock surged to an all-time high of 289.98 during intraday trading on the stock market today. It was the 10th record high in the last 14 trading sessions for AAPL stock. Apple stock rose 2% to end the regular session at 289.91.

Apple had some of the most sought-after gifts this holiday shopping season. Those products included iPhone 11 handsets, AirPods wireless earbuds and the Apple Watch smartwatch.

Another consumer electronics vendor benefiting from positive sales chatter was iRobot (IRBT), maker of Roomba robot vacuum cleaners.

Gadget Hacker Solves the Biggest Problem With Robovacs by Making One That Flies

Even the most expensive robot vacuums—like those capable of emptying themselves so they can run autonomously for weeks—lack the ability to climb up and down stairs in order to clean multiple floors of a house. YouTuber Peter Sripol came up with a solution to that problem.

Sripol modified a robot vacuum to fly, and you can chekc out the video below.

It’s doubtful you’ll be able to find this mod in the next Roomba, but maybe manfacturers will take notice:

Apple’s cheapest iPad gets a slightly bigger screen

The iPad 10.2 continues from where last year’s entry-level iPad 9.7 left off: offering Apple’s best value for a brand-new iPad at a ridiculously reasonable price – and a price that’s often discounted by third-party retailers.

New is the 10.2-inch display that’s marginally bigger than the classic 9.7-inch screen size. Every fraction of an inch helps if you’re planning to use Split View on iPad OS, and the actual iPad dimensions aren’t much larger.

EZVIZ C1C Indoor Wi-Fi Camera review: a full-featured budget security camera

Though the general trend for DIY security cameras is to grow increasingly advanced and expensive, there is still a demand for less loftily designed budget models. The EZVIZ C1C is such a camera. It delivers standard, customizable motion detection, Full HD video, easy operation, and plenty of storage for a paltry $20.

The camera comes with 1080p resolution, motion detection with activity zones, night vision, and two-way audio. It even offers a trio of storage options: You can record event-detected video locally to a microSD card (up to 256GB, card not included) or to an EZVIZ NVR (network video recorder, sold separately for $230).
