We finally have your first look at the new watchOS 8 update after Apple released the public beta on Wednesday.

The new operating system offers tons of new features that should make it well worth the upgrade. While it’s not the final release of watchOS 8, it does give us the best look yet as to what the new operating system has to offer.

As part of the update, users have more flexibility when it comes to customizing their watch face. There’s even a new portrait watch face option that allows you to put your favorite portrait photos as your watch face background.

The new update also offers updated messaging features. The new features allow users to write on their watch face with their finger and watchOS 8 will turn it into text. It is easier to use emojis in messages now and you can send voice messages or use a voice to text feature.

What else does watchOS 8 have to offer and how can you download the public beta to try it out?
