Check out these stunning images of a Russian ISS module burning up in space

A European Space Agency astronaut got quite the show recently with his incredible view in space when an International Space Station (ISS) module began falling back to Earth and burned up in the atmosphere. The module was recently retired and beyond repair, so NASA officials had it towed from the ISS and allowed it to safely burn up in the atmosphere.

Astronaut Thomas Pesquet not only witnessed the old module get towed away, but he took some pretty incredible pictures of the process, including the light show in the sky when the module met its fiery demise.

Do you want to see the fireworks in space for yourself? Be sure to check out Pesquet’s stunning images right here!
