Big Tech Update
Your Pixel phone can now track your heart and respiratory rate
Google is officially rolling out heart and respiratory tracking for Pixel smartphones through a new Google Fit update.
The two new features are available on some phones already, as the company began the rollout yesterday. Google will continue to push the new update to eligible Pixel devices throughout the week. The upgrade is being pushed to phones via a server-side update. If you are a Pixel owner and wonder if you have the new features or not, you will know by your home screen. Once the features are live on your phone, you will see “respiratory” and “check your heart rate” icons on your home screen.
The new features are tracked through the Pixel’s camera, and while it is not intended to be used for medical purposes, the data can help you track and improve your fitness goals and overall day-to-day wellness. So, which phones will receive the new features and what else do you need to know about the Pixel’s new health tracking tracking capabilities?
