You can finally get your hands on this new indie gaming handheld

The long-awaited indie gaming handheld Playdate is finally becoming a reality and will be available for purchase soon.

The new gaming handheld was originally announced in 2019 with an expected early 2020 release date, but that target was missed due to the global pandemic. But retro indie gaming enthusiasts are rejoicing after the new device received an official launch date on Thursday.

The new gaming handheld looks a lot like a classic Gameboy device, with similar buttons and the same general design. In true retro fashion, games on this device will only be available in black and white.

Though the handheld is fairly simple, it does offer surprisingly good audio quality, a headphone jack, a lock button, and a USB-C Port. What other features will this new handheld have, when will it launch, and how much will it set you back? Check out this video overview for all of the details and to see the device in action.
